Casareccia is originally from Sicily, but it is also characteristic of other southern regions.
From the shape of a small smooth parchment, rolled up on itself and curved towards the tip, the name evokes the ancient homemade origin, an interpretation of the “busiata pasta” of Arab derivation obtained with the thin cane of a plant with which once the pieces of dough were wrapped.
